Hit Streak for Farber Reaches 20
Tuesday, September 8th , 1896
Leon Farber's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Brooklyn first baseman smacked 1 hit against the Detroit Spartans in today's game at Union Grounds, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Unions drop the game, 6-3.

"I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly."
Leon Farber grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th.

This season, Farber has hit at a .279 clip and produced 31 RBI, no home runs and 40 runs.
