Louisville Snaps Farber Streak at 20
Wednesday, September 9th , 1896
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Brooklyn first baseman Leon Farber went hitless in 4 at-bats at Union Grounds.

The sudden hitting drought came as the Unions snagged the 11-10 win over the Louisville Stallions.

"Nope, it's not magic," Farber said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

Farber has collected 77 hits for the Unions this year, 0 of them home runs. He has also netted 31 RBIs and scored 41 runs while batting .275.
