| Teller Runs Hit String to 35 Straight Games Tuesday, September 15th , 1896 Chalk up another one for New York Titans shortstop George Teller. He now has hit in 35 straight games. Teller went 1-for-3 in today's game at Lakefront Grounds but saw his club defeated, 6-1, by the host Cleveland Bears.
"Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Titans manager said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." George Teller was hit by a pitch in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season, Teller has put up a .396 batting average with 203 hits, 2 home runs and 76 RBIs. | | |
