"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Hawkins's quip, Dutchmen skipper said he "would take him up on that next time."
Jonathan Hawkins hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Franklin Fuller in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
This year, Hawkins has hit at a .251 clip with 23 RBIs, 2 home runs and 26 runs scored.
