| Marshall Captures Triple Crown Tuesday, September 30th , 1884 Bob Marshall of the Boston Brahmins joined an elite class of hitters this year when he won the 1st Triple Crown in NA history.
He paced all National Alliance hitters in all three categories with a .351 batting average, 12 home runs and 55 RBIs. To add to those impressive numbers, he also had 140 hits, 32 doubles, 13 triples and scored 64 times during the season.
"The 1884 season was really special for Bob. Everything clicked for him this year. He is an exceptional player," the Brahmins skipper told BNN reporters. | | |
