 | On Fire, Samuels Wins EBC Rookie Award Tuesday, September 1st , 1896 The Eastern Baseball Circuit announced the winner of the Rookie of the Month Award. It went to Edward Samuels of the Rochester Millers for his outstanding work on the mound. For the month of August the 23-year-old Samuels recorded a 8-0 won-lost mark with a 2.06 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 78.2 innings. Thus far this season, Samuels has worked 315.1 innings with 201 strikeouts en route to a 28-8 record and a 2.54 ERA. |   |
