 | Jaynes Wins WBC Best Player Award Monday, August 24th , 1896 It was an extraordinary week for Sam Jaynes of the Milwaukee Knights. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .533, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the Western Baseball Circuit. Last week Jaynes went 16-for-30, racked up no home runs and 16 RBIs and scored 11 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Milwaukee right fielder. At the moment, Jaynes is batting .439 with 11 home runs and 118 RBIs. He has played in 98 games and scored 102 times. |   |
