 | Sant Tosses 4-0 Shutout Monday, August 15th , 1887 In a seemingly effortless performance, Clement Sant of the Lincoln Statesmen shot down the St. Joseph River Kings, 4-0, on 6 hits. "Clement was just locating so well and using his pitches," Lincoln manager said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Sant recorded 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," St. Joseph manager said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him." In the current season, Sant has put up a .329 batting average with 27 hits, 1 home run, 12 RBI and scored 14 runs. |   |
