 | Birch Superb Against Omaha Friday, September 9th , 1887 Marty Birch pitched a strong game at Carver Grounds, blanking the Omaha Stockmen, 2-0. Birch, who is tied for 9th in the CBL with a 1.17 WHIP, allowed no runs on 4 hits, totaled 3 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks. Kansas City manager said he could tell immediately it was going to be a good game for Birch. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," said. "He threw a lot of strikes." Looking at his season stats to date, Birch has no saves in no relief appearances with a 13-17 record and 3.11 ERA. |   |
