| Brahmins Finish Off Catamounts in 12 | The Boston Brahmins eked out a 12-inning, 3-2 win versus the Chicago Catamounts at Brahmins Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Will James. He was terrific. In 12 innings, James surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. The third-place Brahmins are now 34-25, the Catamounts 39-21.
Batting in the bottom of the 12th, 23-year old catcher Arnold Petry had a real shot to win the game. Chicago pitcher Albie Scott was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Petry hit a run-scoring single. The Brahmins had a walk-off triumph.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Chicago manager . "We just didn't cash in."
