Kershaw Lifts Columbians to Win
Washington turned a good effort from starter John Kershaw into a win over the Boston Brahmins at Brahmins Grounds. The Columbians won the game, 7-1. At 25-39, the Columbians claim 7th place in the National Alliance.

Kershaw was in the zone all game. He frustrated Boston hitters while giving the Columbians 9 innings of quality work. Kershaw threw 136 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 7 punchouts.
