Baltimore pitcher Ken Burns did his part in helping his team beat the Washington Columbians, 6-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. With the win over Washington, the Cannons improved to 35-34.

Ken Denham had a chance to be a hero in the top of the eighth inning. With Washington trailing 2-1, Washington had a runner on 3rd. But Denham grounded out.
