Columbians Whack Cannons, 12-1 | The Washington Columbians marched over the Baltimore Cannons, 12-1, at Ordnance Grounds. Ken Denham, who is tied for 9th in the in hits with 81, led the charge. He was 4 for 5 with 2 triples and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. John Kershaw, the winning pitcher, improved to 18-24. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The win puts Washington at 28-44.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Ordnance Grounds seemed to enjoy watching the National Alliance action.
