Toronto registered a win at Garrison Common Grounds by beating the Baltimore Bannermen, 5-3. Pitcher Lawrence Phillips was one reason why the Provincials triumphed. Phillips, now 1-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. With the loss, Baltimore sinks to 4-4.

Chicken Smothers had a big run-scoring triple for the Provincials in the bottom of the first inning. With Toronto leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from 34-year old right-handed pitcher Nate Shine and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Provincials ahead, 2-0.

Toronto manager called it "a darn good win."
