Win Makes Toronto 6-5
The Toronto Provincials rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Glen Nalley to a win, beating the Cleveland Clippers, 4-2, at Garrison Common Grounds. The Clippers, 5-6, continue their sluggish start to the 1887 campaign.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Doc McGuire was at the plate when Toronto scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Provincials to go in front, 3-2.

After the game, Toronto manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
