Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Washington Federals as starter Doc Burbank shut them out, 6-0, at Capitol Park. The St. Louis pitcher struck out 5 and walked 5 while allowing 6 hits.

"Burbank was good but he wasn't flawless," Washington manager said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from St. Louis, but this is on us."

In 32 starts this season, Burbank has rung up a 17-15 record and a 3.74 ERA.
