| Tigers Win at Home, 7-3 | The Montreal Tigers earned a win at St. Gabriel Grounds II, knocking off the Toronto Provincials, 7-3. On the bump for Montreal was right-hander Stu Archibald. He had a starring role in the triumph. Archibald, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 9 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. The Tigers, now 7-3, have hit the ground running this season.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the third inning, but Archibald was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Toronto trailing 2-1, Archibald retired Chicken Smothers, who lined out.
