Cleveland Clippers starter Weldon Skinner took the mound against the Montreal Tigers at St. Gabriel Grounds II; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 7-6 win. Cleveland reliever Woody Ross was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Rodney Friesen. Eddie Montague earned the save, his 1st in 1 tries.

Cleveland took advantage of an error in the top of the 13th inning. The game was tied, 6-6, when Edmond Mortimer hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Clippers in front, 7-6.

"I felt great. Had good rhythm with my mechanics," said Skinner.

Montreal is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 11 games.
