Kansas City took on Toronto in front of a lively crowd.

A 3-RBI performance from Bob Marshall, who finished 3rd in the FL in batting average with .355 in 1881, helped the Kansas City Prairie Dogs beat the Toronto Provincials, 5-4. Kansas City pitcher Bill Nolette earned the win, hiking his record to 17-23. Glen Nalley suffered the loss.

Marshall had a timely hit for Kansas City in the top of the seventh. With Kansas City trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-1 changeup into a bases-clearing double. It was his 23rd double of the season, making it 4-2, Kansas City.

Said Toronto manager : "They just got the better of us."
