Tigers Pick Up 6-5 Win
Kansas City center fielder Tommy Cate had a good game, even if his team did not. The Prairie Dogs dropped a 6-5 decision to Montreal at St. Gabriel Grounds II. Cate went 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Picking up the win was Joe Henry. He went 9 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 2. The Tigers now have a record of 48-44 with the win over Kansas City.

With Montreal leading 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Dave Dye hit a run-scoring single off Kansas City pitcher Bill Nolette. It put the Tigers ahead 6-1.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Dye. "It sure beats the alternative."
