Prairie Dogs Best Bannermen, 4-1
The Kansas City Prairie Dogs scooped up a win at Carver Grounds, dumping the Baltimore Bannermen, 4-1. Bill Nolette, who finished 5th in the IA in ERA with 2.40 in 1885, was essential to his team's success. With the win over Baltimore, the Prairie Dogs improved to 37-63.

Billy Swanson went 1 for 4 for Kansas City. The 26-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Hugh Brigand. It was his 53rd hit of the season.

"Bill was in control from the top," said Kansas City manager .
