Provincials Suffer 8-6 Setback
The Cleveland Clippers defeated the Toronto Provincials, 8-6, in 10 innings. Much of the credit belonged to shortstop Bird Brennan, who went 4-4 with 2 triples, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Clippers. Cleveland pitcher Paul Jackson earned the win, hiking his record to 13-25. Glen Nalley suffered the loss. Cleveland is now 44-87.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out, Joseph DeWald hit a 2-2 changeup from Glen Nalley for a run-scoring single. It put Cleveland in front, 7-6.

"That's what these guys do," said Clippers manager . "They battle, they fight."
