| Federals Shut Out Vulcans, Ewart Winner | Tom Ewart kept the Pittsburgh Vulcans hitters off balance all game long, as the Washington Federals pitcher blanked the Vulcans, 4-0.
Ewart gave up 4 hits, struck out 1, and walked 2. In the postgame press conference, the right-hander was reluctant to talk about the outing at length.
"It was a nice win in a long season," he said. "I don't want to dwell too much on it."
This season, Ewart has compiled a 20-39 record with a 2.80 ERA in 60 starts. | | | | |
