| Westerners Notch 7-4 Win Versus Federals | The Indianapolis Westerners picked up a win at Capitol Park, knocking off the Washington Federals, 7-4. On the mound for Indianapolis was right-hander Bill McDonald. He played a key role in the triumph. Indianapolis now sits at 65-67, while Washington falls to 40-94.
Tom Woods drove in one run for Indianapolis. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tom Ewart. It was his 48th RBI of the season.
"Bill was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Indianapolis manager . | | | | |
