Clippers Take Tight Tangle
Cleveland and Kansas City put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Cleveland Clippers picked up a win at Lakefront Park, taking down the Kansas City Prairie Dogs, 6-5, in 10 innings. On the mound for Cleveland was right-hander Harold Williams. He played a central role in the triumph. Williams, now 1-2, was the winner. In 10 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 5 runs.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Cleveland. That's when Edmond Mortimer hit a 2-run double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Child to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager .

The Clippers are now 35-75.
