Prairie Dogs Lose to Brahmins in Walk-Off
The Boston Brahmins picked up a win at Brahmins Grounds, knocking off the Kansas City Prairie Dogs, 5-4, in 10 innings. On the mound for Boston was right-hander Peter Gates. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Gates, who is tied for 5th in the IA in quality starts with 30, went the distance for Boston. He gave up 4 runs on 8 hits. The 5th-place Brahmins go to 59-55.

The Brahmins got a clutch hit from right fielder Jim Strouse. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Brahmins.

"It was a test of wills," said , the Boston skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
