| Brahmins Take Down Tigers, 6-5, in 10 | The Boston Brahmins defeated the Montreal Tigers, 6-5, in 10 innings. Cecil Mathews, who finished 4th in the IA in wins above replacement with 5.5 in 1885, played a big role. Mathews was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Brahmins in the win. Boston, now 61-55, holds down 5th place in the International Association.
The Brahmins got a clutch hit from pitcher Lloyd Dehaan. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Brahmins.
