| Pilots Get Thrilling 2-1 Win | St. Louis got an elite performance from starting pitcher Stan Davis in securing an extra-inning, 2-1 decision over the Washington Legislators. The setback makes Washington 28-59.
Washington had little success against Davis and his fastball. Davis tossed 139 pitches over 11 innings for the Pilots.
During his postgame press conference, Pilots manager told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!" | | | | |
