Pilots Take Down Brahmins, 4-3
St. Louis pitcher Nate Shine did his part in helping his team beat the Boston Brahmins, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Shine, now 22-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. St. Louis is in first place in the International Association with a record of 84-47.

The decisive blow was delivered by John Tennison in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher John Killion to win the game for St. Louis. The home crowd went nuts.

"That's what good pitchers do," said St. Louis manager . "They find a way."
