| Monarchs Shut Out Pilots, Slake Winner | "That was one of my best outings," said Ashton Slake. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."
It was an impressive start for the Monarchs hurler. He blanked the Pilots, 1-0, on a strong 2-hitter while ringing up 2 strikeouts and doling out 2 walks.
In 46 starts this season, Slake has recorded 29 wins and absorbed 16 losses. He has pitched 405.2 innings, allowed 303 hits, struck out 196 and has a 1.93 ERA. | | | | |
