Monarchs Suffer 12-9 Loss to Prairie Dogs
The Kansas City Prairie Dogs had to overcome a big game from Cincinnati third baseman Will Bowling to leave Carver Grounds with a victory. And they did, winning, 12-9. Bowling went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Kansas City's record now stands at 47-83, placing them 7th in the International Association.

The Monarchs had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Prairie Dogs going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old shortstop Terrence Bonney came to the plate. Bonney hit a run-scoring triple on a 1-2 fastball from Cincinnati hurler Ashton Slake. It was Bonney's 7th triple of the year.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Bonney said.
