| Gosnell Torches Steers for 5 Hits | It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Milton Gosnell, it came around today.
The 28-year-old catcher scattered hits all over Mission Grounds to pace the 12-1 San Antonio Vaqueros victory over the Dallas Steers.
Dallas skipper told reporters in the press room that "Gosnell deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Gosnell hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Milton Gosnell singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
This year, Gosnell is batting .366 with no home runs. He has scored 31 runs and driven in 12. | |
