The Pittsburgh Vulcans picked up a win at Vulcan Grounds, dropping the New York Excelsiors, 4-3. Dennis Catchings, who is tied for 7th in the IA with a 1.16 WHIP, was the difference-maker. With the loss, New York sinks to 11-7.

Center Fielder Marty Wilson made an impact for Pittsburgh, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Candy Lemmons in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Wilson was 2 for 4 with a triple.
