| Brahmins Beat Toronto, 2-1 | In a well-pitched game between the Boston Brahmins and the Toronto Provincials, pitcher Peter Gates was superb. The Boston right-hander helped his team win, 2-1, in 10 innings. At 10-3, the 1888 Brahmins have been excellent so far.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Gates hit a changeup from Fred Brody for a run-scoring single. The Brahmins, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We had a chance to win," said Toronto manager , "but we didn't get it done." | | | | |
