Cleveland Rallies for 8-5 Victory
The Cleveland Blue Caps racked up a win at Lakeside Grounds, bumping off the Chicago Cyclones, 8-5. Dan Hicks, who started for Cleveland, pitched effectively for his team. Hicks, who finished 2nd in the FL in ERA with 2.46 last year, went the distance for Cleveland. He gave up 5 runs on 9 hits. The Blue Caps now own a record of 73-37.

An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Blue Caps second baseman Marty Stephenson hit a fastball from Tom Ewart for a 2-run single. Just like that, Cleveland was up, 6-5.

Stephenson said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
