The Chicago Cyclones defeated the Cleveland Blue Caps, 7-3, at Lakeside Grounds. Leading the charge for Chicago was right fielder Ben Felty. He was 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. The setback makes Cleveland 74-38.

The Blue Caps had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Cyclones going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Ewart came to the plate. Ewart hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 changeup from Cleveland hurler Jack McKinley. It was Ewart's 13th double of the year.

"Whenever I help the team," said Felty, "I feel like I earned my paycheck."
