| Hereford Bewilders Federals, 2-0 | The Washington Federals struggled at the plate against Colts hurler Kip Hereford, who shackled them on 5 hits while hurling a complete-game 2-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Federals skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Hereford finished the game with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," Louisville manager said. "Kip made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
