Clippers Use Late Score to Top Tigers, 6-5
Montreal got a decent performance from pitcher Jack Kerwin, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cleveland Clippers. Cleveland won the St. Gabriel Grounds II contest, 6-5. Kerwin threw 9.0 innings allowing 6 runs for the losing team. The win makes Cleveland 43-87.

Cleveland used a timely hit from Nathan Shiffing to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Clippers ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

Shiffing said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
