The Louisville Colts got a strong game from starter Ed Lane, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Colts took the 3-2 win over the St. Louis Pilots in Game 2 of the Round 1 in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Lane. Lane threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which brought the Colts into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Lane hit a curveball from Zebulon Eldridge for a run-scoring double. The Colts, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"There's nothing like the postseason," said Lane, "to ramp up the pressure."

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 16th , 1887 at Fuchs Park in St. Louis.
