| Vulcans Top Sturgeons, 6-1, Behind Lamb | Detroit had no answer for 25-year old left-handed pitcher Stanley Lamb. The Pittsburgh Vulcans starter stymied Sturgeons hitters, helping the Vulcans cruise to victory, 6-1. With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 25-20.
Lamb ran roughshod over the Detroit lineup. The left-hander allowed just 4 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 7. With the victory, he goes to 13-10 on the season.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Lamb.
