Goss Terrific in 4-1 New York Triumph | Thomas Goss, who finished 3rd in the FL in innings pitched with 461.2 last year, never let the Provincials get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Excelsiors to a win, 4-1. The Excelsiors sit in second place in the International Association with a record of 17-12.
Goss was effective against the Provincials, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Toronto to just 1 run on 3 hits over 9 innings.
"Thomas's as tough as he is talented," said New York manager . | | | | |
