The Detroit Sturgeons knocked off the Louisville Colts, 10-6, in Federal League action at Derby Grounds. Detroit center fielder and Aurora, Ohio, native George Ashe had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Lloyd Dehaan. He tossed 136 pitches over 9 innings, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits. Detroit, now 22-31, holds down 6th place in the Federal League.

Ashe had a consequential at-bat in the top of the third for the Sturgeons. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Detroit trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
