The New York Barons scored a convincing win at Capitol Park, defeating the Washington Federals, 11-2. One of the hitting stars was Virgil Arwood, who finished 3rd in the FL in stolen bases with 21 in 1880, who went 4-5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. New York currently is in 5th place in the Federal League at 22-34.

With New York leading 4-2 in the top of the seventh, Arwood hit a fastball from Ronald Langford for a 2-run triple. It was his 6th triple of the season and put the Barons ahead, 6-2.
