In a seemingly effortless performance, Ed Lane of the Louisville Colts shot down the New York Barons, 5-0, on 6 hits.

"Ed was just locating so well and using his pitches," Louisville manager said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Lane recorded 3 strikeouts and 3 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," New York manager said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
