The St. Louis Pilots tallied a win at Carver Grounds, throttling the Kansas City Prairie Dogs, 6-2. Starting pitcher Will James was a big reason for his team's success. St. Louis, now 18-10, has played well in the early going.

Bulldog Ayers had a big 2-run double for the Pilots in the top of the third inning. With St. Louis leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Marty Birch and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pilots ahead, 3-0.

Ayers said his team "played with determination."
