| Pilots Take Home 4-2 Win Over Cleveland | The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The St. Louis Pilots topped the Cleveland Clippers, 4-2, in International Association action at Fuchs Park. The standout performance belonged to St. Louis pitcher and St. Louis, Missouri, native Zebulon Eldridge. Eldridge, now 15-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
With St. Louis leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Bulldog Ayers hit a run-scoring single off Cleveland pitcher Dan Hicks. It put the Pilots ahead 4-2.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said St. Louis manager .
