| Ewart Now 1-0 Following 5-1 Win | Fans of the Washington Federals who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Washington win over the visiting New York Barons, 5-1. Tom Ewart started for the home team against Ted Carson. Tom Ewart earned accolades for his performance.
Ewart, a native of Erie, Pennsylvania, was dealing all game. He kept New York hitters off-balance, while giving the Federals 9 quality innings. Ewart threw 125 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 2.
