| Bannermen Win Thriller, 4-3 | The Baltimore Bannermen picked up a win at Banner Field, knocking off the Kansas City Prairie Dogs, 4-3. On the mound for Baltimore was left-hander Hugh Brigand. He played a key role in the triumph. Brigand, now 14-6, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The Bannermen, at 26-22, sit in 5th place in the International Association.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Brigand hit a fastball from Tom Child for a run-scoring single. The Bannermen, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Brigand. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win." | | | | |
