| Bannermen Dismiss Monarchs, 3-2 | Starting pitcher Bill Silvers gave the Baltimore Bannermen a rock-solid effort. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native helped his team defeat the Cincinnati Monarchs, 3-2, at Queen City Grounds II. The Bannermen now have a record of 26-31 with the win over Cincinnati.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jim Durr? The 29-year old right fielder Durr stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Baltimore up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Silvers said after the game. | | | | |
