Robins Find a Way to Win
Rochester shortstop Norm Heyward collected 4 ribbies while his team bumped off the New York Columbians, 9-8, in 15 innings. Rochester reliever Tom Bell was the winner. His record is now 20-13. Martin Bird took the loss. The Robins lead the Federal League by a game.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 15th, slugging first baseman Larry Buckley had a chance to be the hero. New York pitcher Martin Bird wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Buckley hit a sacrifice fly. The Robins had themselves a thrilling win.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Heyward told reporters after the game.
