| In 10, Baltimore Sinks Pittsburgh, 6-3 | The Baltimore Bannermen picked up a win at Vulcan Grounds, dropping the Pittsburgh Vulcans, 6-3. Harlan Beesley, who finished 4th in the IA in wins with 22 last year, was the difference-maker. With the win, Baltimore pushed its record to 37-27.
Baltimore used the clutch hitting of Ken McDowell to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bannermen ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"I like to lead by example," said McDowell. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
