| Provincials Collect 5-3 Win Over Brahmins | Toronto took on Boston in front of a lively crowd.
The Toronto Provincials racked up a win at Brahmins Grounds, bumping off the Boston Brahmins, 5-3, in 13 innings. Glen Nalley, who started for Toronto, pitched effectively for his team. Bart Nader was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Lloyd Dehaan.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Merritt Hunter came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing Boston pitcher Lloyd Dehaan, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Toronto on top, 5-3.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Hunter.
