Riding the 4-hit performance of the fan favorite Standpipe Read, the Toronto Provincials defeated the St. Louis Pilots, 13-1. Toronto currently is in third place in the International Association at 47-37.

With Toronto leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Read hit a fastball from Ajax McFadden for a 2-run double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Provincials ahead, 3-0.

St. Louis manager called the blowout loss "nothing to write home about."
