Pittsburgh second baseman John Clark had a 4-RBI game, which proved instrumental to his team beating the Louisville Colts, 7-5. Clark picked up 1 single and 1 double in the ballgame. The 6th-place Vulcans hiked their record to 50-51.

Clark had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Vernon Thorne, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Vulcans a 6-5 lead. It was the 11th double of the year for Clark.

"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," Clark told the Pittsburgh Gazette.
